Launch of Birmingham Tigers Cricketers Club

Currently an exciting, new community project is being launched that requires Sponsorship. The project name is Connecting communities via Cricket, which involves transforming a group of talented young people from playing amateur cricket in to playing for a semi professional (Semi-Pro) standard. The Club currently plays in the Birmingham Cricket League Saturday and Sunday leagues (www.bppca.org).

Birmingham Tigers Senior Cricket Club is playing in Division 1 and looking to sustain itself in the Birmingham Cricket League, a league which is affiliated with Warwickshire Cricket County and a feeder league in the midlands to play Semi-Pro and a stepping stone to Professional cricket. The Club aim is to top the league table in 2016/2017 and qualify for premier Division of same league for season 2017/2018 so that the milestone of entering a professional league could be achieved by year 2018/2019.

Ambitions

The Club plans on becoming a Warwickshire County Chartered Standard Community Club which acknowledges the most advanced level of club development. The project will allow local inner city young people from deprived communities in Birmingham the opportunity to participate in a competitive higher level of sport and play against Semi-Pro clubs from across the Midlands and an opportunity participate in the Warwickshire county club, which is one of the the oldest  cricket club in the World, following in the footsteps of the our Head branch London Tigers, which are currently playing with 4 cricket teams in two leagues including Middlesex county semi-pro league.
