Birmingham Tigers is a Charity based in Newtown, Birmingham and situated in the Aston Ward, Ladywood Constituency. It was established in 2009 and set up to address sporting and lifetime learning opportunities for hard to reach groups, who have been disadvantaged through social, cultural, racial or economic reasons. The organisation views sports and recreation as a tool to engage with these marginalized and vulnerable groups and support the social, health and physical fitness of young people from Birmingham. The organisation is a branch of London Tigers (www.londontigers.org) a Registered Charity (1100019) based in Westminister, London and established since 1986.
The Organisation’s charitable purposes are to provide public benefit to the cluster of deprived and marginalised inner city communities living in Birmingham, West Midlands, UK. These include but not just restricted to the following areas and wards, Aston, Lozells, Newtown, Washwood Heath, Small Heath, Bordesley Green, Sparkbrook, Sparkhill, Nechells, Balsall Heath, South Yardley, Springfield, Stechford and Yardley North.
